Week 13

With everything that has occurred in the Middle East problems still exist in today's world. This is a life long problem that has existed over the same piece of land between the same to people. There have been many tries to end these problems but, everything that has been laid out on the table has been rejected and the suicide bombings and other attacks continue. There are two sides to this story but, the American papers tend to favor and show the Israeli side to the problem but, both parties have there reasons why this is occurring and never ending. This crisis in the Middle East should be a big issue within the United Nations because if you can settle these issues in the Middle East it will also help out the rest of the world. The Middle East has many useful resources which can be used throughout the world and if there is no war going on these resources could be accessed easier possibly helping this economic crisis the world faces in today's world.

  1. I think that Israelies are wrong on occupying territory that does not belong to them. Forcing the host to "share equally" the land that belongs to the host, Palestine. Do you think is the right thing to do, go to and live on someone's house and after a while try to take over half of the house for self benefit???

  2. I'm actually thinking about the questions were asking right here, since Irsraelis claimed the right to live their, forcing the Palestinians to leave their houses with guns, shooting, killing, Palestinians, made them scared of the Israelis since the Palestinians had nothing to fight back with, since their were under the british rule.

  3. I agree that the occupation of Palestinian territory is wrong, and something should be done to satisfy both groups...I do not agree with the terrible things the Israeli Government have done to the Palestinians. However, as someone of Jewish heritage, there is nothing that could have been done to prevent some sort of Jewish migration. A culture that has been persecuted for hundreds of years, from the Spanish Inquisition and exile of Jews to the Holocaust...they had to go somewhere. The actions of the Israeli people can not be forgiven or forgotten, just like the actions of the Nazis cant be forgiven or forgotten...

  4. I agree with what you said about the Middle East being a bigger issue for the United Nations. When the Gaza Genocide was occurring this winter, i believe the United Nations used all their resources to the fullest in trying to end the raid and denounce Israel’s actions. Even though the general secretary denounced Israel’s actions and asked them to unoccupy Gaza and end what they were doing, Israel did continued and i feel it’s because the United States remained neutral throughout the entire conflict rather than joining the Security Council and providing ways to create a truce and end the massacre. So i feel the UN is trying but there are forces like the US against them that are keeping them from accomplishing much.
